The Engadin or Engadine (German: Engadin, Rumantsch: Engiadina; tr: garden of the Inn) is a long mountain valley located in the canton of Graubünden in southeast Switzerland. It follows the route of the Inn River from its headwaters at Maloja Pass running northeast until the Inn flows into Austria one hundred kilometers downstream. The Engadin is protected by high mountains on all sides and is famous for its sunny climate, beautiful landscapes and outdoor activities.

The lack of maintenance over the years has meant the protective lacquer originally applied to the surface of the sculpture had degraded exposing the surface of the bronze to the weather. The damage this causes can be seen here where the copper in the bronze has turned green as the result of oxidation. The conservation work will bring the sculpture back to its original colour, similar to that of another cast of the sculpture owned by the Henry Moore Foundation www.henry-moore.org/pg/interactive-tours/virtual-perry-gr…
